Let's see how this goes.....

Hello world! I decided to join the world of blogging. I figure it's what every married person starts to do at some point, right? So I might as well hop on the bandwagon and hope that I have enough entertaining stories and profound thoughts to keep this thing afloat.

I've been married for almost 5 months and I can honestly say that it's been the best almost half year of my life. I know, I know. Super cheesy. But it's true. I loved my single life with all of the crazy late nights with friends and all of the uncertainty that came with it. Honestly though, I love being married that much more....and if you knew me back in the day, you know that I was quite content being single. But I digress. Chris makes me so blissfully happy and I know without a doubt that he is who I was supposed to marry and spend eternity with. He is the most amazing man I have ever met, and I must say, I am super lucky that he chose to spend forever with me. Aaaaaand, done with the cheese.

It was quite the adjustment moving to Ohio.  As a Pittsburgh native, we're trained to despise everything about the buckeye state.  Throw in the fact that I'm a die-hard Penn Stater, and there was no way in my mind that I would ever come to call Ohio my home.  I just planned on existing here for the next few years and then booking it out.  At first, I held on extremely tight to that notion....but then something happened. I began to think of this mid-western, cow-country state as home. It's where I live now. And what's even more shocking is that I'm actually starting to like it here....whatttt?! I've met some incredible people and I'm starting to get the lay of the land.  I'm still searching high and low for a job, but I know that I'll find something that makes me happy.  I was called to be the Young Women's president in my ward about a month ago and that's kept me super busy.  When I was asked to do this, I was super hesitant and anxious. I've never worked with teenagers!! I'm a Kindergarten teacher!! How was I supposed to relate? I was in for another shock when I found that this calling is exactly what I needed in my life.  I adore all of the girls that I get to work with and they are constantly teaching me with their examples and their love of the gospel.

Hopefully I haven't bored you to sleep with this first blog entry!! I hope to post frequently enough about all the adventures that happen to the Benninghoffs. (I love my new name!) Until next time!!

xoxo

I thought I'd throw in one of my favorite shots from the wedding. Aren't we just the cutest. ;)
